I take it you did not enjoy the bullfighting. I did enjoy the story, however. You illustrated the events very colorlfully. I wonder how I would react if I were to witness the killing of a bull regardless of how many of the patrons were 'into' it. What a wonderful writing style you have.

Hi, I'm Shannon's Motherin law and happened to be with her, unfortunately for us that we were there, and I agree with all she had to say. As I returned to the US I just told everyone it was awful and worse than I'd expected. Thank goodness we were able to escape after 4 of these events. However, Shannon and I spent the other 3 surveying the crowd instead of the barbaric treatment of animals. I realize this is a custom in this country, but was really shocking for me.

April, thanks for your comment. It makes me happy to think of Kerry being remembered so I appreciate you writing! I'd love to see the photos you posted online if you wouldn't mind?

Hi Erin! Thanks so much for sharing a memory with so much laughter in it!!! I love it and I can just picture you two laughing away together on the porch. My mom brought a photo you had sent her of you and your kids (which, honestly, blows my mind because of course I can't begin to think of you as being old enough to be a MOM!!).

Now of course I'll have to start putting "peabut" on my grocery list. Thanks for that.

Hey Brian and Shannon - So sorry we missed you- but we may come visit again-- we love it there!
'Fina' (Sarafina) would also love to meet you guys - she used to manage my coffee shop in Seattle, and now she's starting a little hostel/B&B place with the Spanish guy she's dating. We had an incredible stay there, met some great folks, had perfect weather, toured the big castle, ate lots of super yummy tapas and wine, and walked all over. Hopefully we'll see you there, or here Amsterdam, soon. Some pictures will be on Facebook tomorrow...

Shannon,
It has been a really long time since I last talked to you... well since you left for Seattle. I googled Kerry, and this is how I found you, although, I have been corresponding with your mom at least once a year since I turned 20. My kids asked me the other day why I always write "peabut" on the grocery list and I told them the other night about Kerry. Her and I were sitting on the front porch of the white house in NW Denver and your mom had asked her to write a grocery list, and she wrote peabut for peanut butter and we laughed so hard. I still write that on every list. I was kept in the dark about her disappearance when I was in 7th grade to protect me I guess, but I still miss her today. And on a lighter note, I am so happy to hear about your successes and marriage and traveling (your mom fills me in). Take care Shannon...write me sometime... I'd love to hear from you.
